Maxwell Leggett Sr.

Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. Maxwell Leggett Sr, age 81, who passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah. Mr. Leggett was a native and lifelong resident of Appling County, he loved gardening and was an avid coon hunter who loved his family deeply. He retired from Baxley Venner and Cleat, was a welder with J.M. Miles Construction and a member of Harvest Temple Church of God.


Mr. Leggett is preceded in death by his wife, Eula Lee Spell Leggett; his parents, Ira and Ollie Griffin Leggett; and four siblings, Royce Leggett, Edward Leggett, Hattie Mae Lane, and Treecy Burns.

Surviving is a son, Maxwell Cecil “MC” Leggett (Kim); three daughters, Donna Hillis (Robert), Sherry Leggett (James), and Valerie Spink (Scott); eight grandchildren, Priscilla Quinn (Kevin), Roxanne Eason (Greg), Patty White, Jamie Parlor (Charee), Kristin Harbin, Michaela Cleveland (Mason), Ashley Leggett Watson, and Dale Johnson (Jennifer); 20 great-grandchildren, Jacob Rentz, Jaden Taylor, Leah Harrison, Caleb Eason, Kaden Eason, Chelsey McManus, Ashlynn McManus, Jaimee Lynn Beasley, Hayden Parlor, Payten Parlor, Jacie Parlor, Aviana Lairsey, Jamey Harbin, Jameson Harbin, Zaylee Morrison, Zaiden Parlor, Madison Cleveland, Hayden Watson, Jeffery Johnson, and Scarlet Johnson; great great grandson, Daeson Michael Moore; two brothers, Charlie Leggett (Peggy) and I.J. Leggett (Roselee); two sisters, Ruby Lee Lewis (Richard) and Jeanette Smith (Bill) also survive.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Virginia Herrington and Reverend Earl Wiggins officiating.

Interment will follow in the Leggett Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Nobles Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers are Jacob Rentz, Jason Leggett, Dale Johnson, Huey Lane, Joey Lewis, and Caleb Eason.

The family will gather at the home of Mr. Maxwell Cecil "MC" and Kim Leggett on 6731 Zoar Road.
