Nobles Funeral Home and Crematory announces the funeral service for Mr. Carroll Wesley Hollis, age 82, who passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Appling Healthcare.


Mr. Carroll was born January 19, 1939, in Appling County to the late Norman Hollis and the late Willie Mae Hollis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Sea-Bees, welder, retired educator, and a craftsman of wood and metal. Mr. Hollis was also an avid outdoorsman.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carroll is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Wise Hollis; son, Wesley Sim Hollis; his brother, Allen “Buddy” Hollis; sister, Norma Jean Hignite; and grandson, Josiah Hollis.

He is survived by his children; Kent Hollis (Jenny), Guy Hollis (Rhonda), and Tanya Lewis (Greg) all of Baxley; six granddaughters, Lena Davis (Joe), Heather Claxton (Toby), Cortney Roberson (Darren), Jessa Lee (Jason), Kelli Fant (Josh), and Katie Mann (Travis); 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Thompson, Wanda Smith (Steve), Sheryl Nipper (Ronnie), one brother, Wendell Hollis (Dale); and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 19th at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Nobles Funeral Home, with Rhonda Hollis providing the eulogy, and Chris Nail officiating the graveside service.

Interment will follow in the Friendship Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers are Ronnie Nipper, Steve Smith, Darren Roberson, Toby Claxton, Scott Sapp, and Luke White.
